| Motorcyclist killed, 16 hurt in road accidents | | | JAMMU: While a motorcyclist lost his life in a road accident at Samba, at least 16 persons were today wounded, some of them critically, after the minibus in which they were travelling overturned at Thathri in Doda.
Police sources said a motorcyclist was crushed to death in a road mishap on the national highway at Diani in Samba. He was identified as Krishan Singh, son of Manju Singh of Dyalachak, Kathua.
A minibus (JK06/3916), which was on its way from Katra to Doda, overturned at Thathri in the morning as a result of which 16 persons sustained injuries.
The injured were shifted to district hospital, Doda, by a police rescue team. Four of the injured were later airlifted to GMC hospital here following deterioration in their condition. They were identified as Rafiqa Begum, wife of Amin of Patnazi, their minor son Mohammad Namaana, Abdul Rashid, son of Mangta Mir of Jawalapur Panazi, and Mohammad Umair, son of Bashart Malik of Patnazi. |
