Case registered against ex-girdawar in fake PRC case | | | JAMMU: A case has been registered against a retired girdawar of revenue department for his alleged involvement in the issuance of fake permanent resident certificates (PRCs) in favour of two sons of a man, who hails from Ratnal in Bishnah. After conducting a preliminary inquiry into the complaint lodged by Vaidpal, son of Ralu Ram of Sarore, police registered a case against retired girdawar Himmat Singh, son of Punjab Singh of Ratnal for managing fake PRCs for his two sons in in lieu of Rs 3000. The complainant had in 2005 alleged that Himmat, during his posting as patwari, charged the money for getting processed the case of PRCs for his sons. The signatures and thumb impressions of his sons were taken in the presence of the then tehsildar, Bishnah, but the PRCs, handed over to him later, had been found to be fake. The matter was detected after one of his sons got selected in police this year. A case under sections 420, 467 and 468 of RPC was registered against the accused at Bishnah police station.
