Govt more concerned about politics than development: Vakil | | | Early Times Report rafiabad (baramulla), Nov 15: Senior Congress leader and former minister, Abdul Gani Vakil Tuesday said that it appears that coalition government was paying more attention on political issues rather than on developmental works. "It seems the government is busy with politics than developmental works, which are going on at snail's pace. It is creating wedge between the government and the people," Senior Congress leader Vakil said while addressing party workers in Achabal, Rafiabad of Baramulla district urged Chief Minister Omer Abdullah that economic issues should not be overshadowed by political issues. "People gave mandate to this government to solve their issues. Electricity, drinking water supply and employment should be provided to people, but it seems the government has forgotten all these issues," senior vice-president Congress said amidst big applaud from crowd. He said that during the tenure of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, work was started on a power project at a cost of Rs 29 crore at Dangiwacha here 'but there is no progress.' speaking on the occasion Congress MLC Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat blamed opposition PDP of creating gapes between people and the government. He also reiterated that Congress is committed for the development and welfare of the people of state. |
