Jammu, Nov 15: A week after shifting of Durbaar to winter capital, the main opposition party PDP extending its anti corruption campaign to Jammu castigated Omar Abdullah led coalition government for unprecedented corrupt practices and loot of exchequer by the team of ministers leaving common people high and dry. Terming the present regime as 'mafia raj', PDP president Mehbooba Mufti alleged CM's office had become fountainhead of corruption and his ministers are busy draining public money for their own comforts and in making their fortunes.
Mehbooba mocked at what she describe Omar having lowered the prestige of CM's institution by 'begging and bowing' before New Delhi for the sake to power and sticking to chair. She said PDP never made such compromises and the party always kept public issues superior and aloft before New Delhi. " They divested their own relative of post as spokesperson just because he spoke something against Rahul Gandhi and New Delhi asked it to do so…….what can one expect for the common masses", Mehbooba remarked.
"The NC led government has established a mafia raj where the arrogance of power is conspicuous……Omar is busy in saving his chair using all his energy to stabilize his position ……he is making all kinds of compromises which has brought down the institution", Mehbooba said mockingly while addressing a huge rally near party office today. " While CM is feeling insecure, his ministers and close coterie around him are taking advantage of this ……they have been looting the state leading to total chaos adding to the miseries of people", PDP chief lamented adding that Omar's style of governance has led to total disconnection with the people, development process has taken a back seat.
Making its presence felt in a big way in Jammu in a huge and impressive rally, the NC's rival party also questioned the rationale behind the new Recruitment policy and sarcastically remarked that the party had promised heavens on checking unemployment but disappointed the youth with this 'innovative' initiative. "There is subversion in recruitment rules and process …….the government which had promised government jobs to the 8th pass, stipend to educated youth, has now asking the very same educated youth to work as daily wagers on 50 percent salary on regular jobs", the PDP chief said in a sarcastic manner.
