Dr Shekhar holds special lecture for IAS, KAS aspirants | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 16: Dr Raj Shekhar, a senior faculty from Delhi’s leading institute for IAS-Ayush IAS today guided the KAS and IAS aspirants of Jammu and Kashmir in a special lecture which was arranged by SR College of Competitions, here. In his marathon six-hour lecture, Dr Shekhar guided students about the latest developments in the field of Information Technology, Science and Space. The special coaching session was attended by around 100 students, who were also made aware of the approach with regard to preparation for prelims and mains examinations of the Civil Services. He also discussed the non conventional areas of the Science and Technology which are becoming important in new pattern of UPSC and also KAS. Issues like doping in sports, medical tourism, drug resistant--super bug were also discussed during question-answer session which was followed by the lecture. Dr Shekhar said that new areas emerging in the field of nuclear energy, especially nuclear safety, nuclear melt down, effects of radiations on human beings and other related issues also deserve special focus. A part from newspapers, the visiting faculty asked the students to follow Science Reporter and Yojana magazines. He also discussed with the students questions asked in the last three years and how to attempt them.
