DDC holds public darbar, solves problems

Udhampur , Nov 16: To take stock of problems and demands of the people, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan accompanied by district officers of various departments, convened an open public darbar at village Chari Sawail near Udhampur, on Wednesday.
The problems and demands put forth by the inhabitants of villagers include blacktopping of tractor road at morha Vishal, installation of street lights, construction of boundary wall of Government Middle School Vishal, plying of buses in Udhampur-Kawa route, proper distribution of ration, construction of toilet complex near railway station, shortage of drinking water supply, shifting of 33KVA power line at chari, provision of computers in schools, speeding up of construction work of foot bridge near Vishal, construction of pilgrimage shed at Kali Mata Mandir, installation of hand pumps in the village, develop Shanti Chowk-Salmay road as Sahargaah, opening of cutting tailoring center, upgradation of culvert near railway station, construction of lane and drains in the area etc.
After giving patient hearing to the problems and demands of the representatives of areas, the DDC said that the basic aim to hold such public darbar in various localities of the district to get the feed back of on going developmental activities by various departments.
Such darbars enable district administration to know the multifaceted problems being faced by the public at their door steps. At the same time, many problems do get solved on the spot due to presence of concerned department’s officials.
Responding to the demands, the DDC asked the engineers of PWD to prepare a detailed estimates for the construction of tractor road Vishal so that it could be projected before the concerned quarter for the release of required funds.
He also assured the people of the area that the solar lights would be provided through Science and Technology Department at the earliest.
Regarding the construction of lane and drains in the area and boundary wall of Govt. Middle School Vishal, The DDC directed the BDO Udhampur to prepare a estimate for the construction of the same.
He further directed Assistant Director CA&PD to ensure the regular supply of ration in the area.He also issued necessary instructions to the concern officer of Social Welfare Department to submit the feasibility report for opening of cutting tailoring center in the area. On the occasion, Khan sanctioned two hand pumps for the area to overcome the shortage of water supply. He assured the public that the regular bus service for Udhampur- Kawa route would be started within three days.
The DDC also assured the public that their other genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned agencies for their early solution.
Among others Sarpanch and panches of the village and people in large number were present on the occasion.
