| 9 handloom training centres established in Kathua | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, November 16 : : In a statement issued by the Assistant Director, Handloom Development Department, Kathua till the ending of October this year Handloom Development Department, Kathua has established 9 handloom training centers besides providing health insurance to 539 beneficiaries. It was also stated that 61517 meters fabric of value Rs 12, 24,340 was produced under co-operative sector till ending October 2011.
To enhance the production 13 looms were modernized whereas 88 peoples were benefitted under Credit Plan Scheme. Under Mahatma Gandhi Bunker Bima Yojna 56 Handloom Weavers are provided with insurance cover. A total of 23 beneficiaries are provided the benefit of education scheme by the Handloom Development Department Kathua
