| Environmental Sciences Department organized music concert | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, November 16 : A music concert was organized by Departments of Environmental Sciences and Dean Students welfare in association with Indian Youth climate Network (IYCN) to transmit message of climate change and solutions.
The function was attended by the faculty members, students, scholars of University of Jammu along with the Officials of various Government Organizations- Forest Department, DST and JKEDA etc.
In his introductory and welcome address Dr Anil K Raina stressed the importance of environmental awareness and urged the younger generation to change their mindset to combat various environmental issues.
Reetu Asrani, Project coordinator, IYCN (J&K) introduced the Solar Punch -the eco rock band from New York which has specially come to the state of Jammu & Kashmir on a green mission to spread awareness about environment issues and clean energy solutions through their songs.
The band consisting of Alan Bigelow, Ph.D. and Scientist with University in New York, James Dean Conklin-Video Filmmaker, Andrew – Financial Analyst and Joe- Computer Analyst has given their performance on the equipments which uses solar energy. They thrilled the audience with their songs that were centered on the theme of conservation of environment.
The Solar Punch Band also stressed that people should practice all the measures needed to conserve energy, water and other natural resources
