| In the past three years of his tenure as chief minister of the state, Mr Omar Abdullah has been landing in controversies one after anther. The controversies he landed in, were not created by any body else but by Omar himself. His " U" turn on his own statements and announcements has in fact degraded the credibility of the word of head of the state . Perhaps, Omar Abdullah doesn't know that the word of the head of the state whether spoken in lighter vein or in heavy tune becomes part of the history and is always recorded for references in the future . But he took his tweets and statements always in a kidding style. It appears that he never thought before he spoke . For instance, in 2009, when an incident of mysterious death of two woman of Shopian took place, in his first statement, chief minister Omar Abdullah had said that the deaths were a drowning case . But, with in days, succumbing before public pressure , Omar constituted a special inquiry team headed by retired justice Muzzafer Jaan saying that there was something wrong in the case and he was briefed wrongly by the police officers . Though later the case was given to CBI which concluded it as per Omar's earlier statement. Not only this, last year, chief minister Omar Abdullah declared 2011
as anti corruption year in the state of Jammu and Kashmir . The common impression was created in the masses that Omar wants to nail the corrupt people in his system. And many were expecting something stron gaction from chief minister in this regard during this year . Interestingly, the year is about to end after one month, but not even a single patwari has been booked so far. And Omar is silent about the fate of his statement and announcement . Similarly, during the recen tautumn assembly session at Srinagar, Omar Abdullah being a home minister of the state made public the names of the rape victims of then state creating large scale criticism in the Jammu Kashmir, on the very next day , Omar apologized on the floor of the house and said that it was wrong on his part and announced inquiry, that how these names were exposed, but the fate of inquiry is yet to be known . The story doesn't stop here, in recent past Omar was caught in a controversy of death of his one of the close aides at his residence. Without knowing his authority , Omar Abdullah announced an inquiry by sitting judge of high court , but court refused to spare any judge for his inquiry . The matter is still pending, though Omar had announced to bring it at the logical conclusion with in one week of time . There are many such instances where Omar deviated from his stands and statements .For instance, in the past four months many times Omar announced to delegate powers to the elected panchayets and many times he announced through his information department that he has created history by delegating the powers to Panchayets . But when Panchayets refused to endorse his statement, he made u turn saying that some more powers will be given soon . In the latest case , Omar Abdullah is running in AFSPA controversy created by he himself . Before , shifting his Darbaar from Sringar to Jammu , Omar had announced that AFSPA will be revoked from some parts of state with in few days . He made this statement with out knowing his authority . His statement was turned down by the army commanders on the very next day saying that the time was not conducive for the step . For the past one month, Omar has been moving from pillar to post in Delhi even he visited the offices and residences of some army commanders too, to win them for his move but all in vain . By seeing Omar Abdullah,s such activities one can say that he has degraded the credibility of the word of chief minister in the state . He must speak only the things he knows fully that he can do . Otherwise his statements have been creating an impression of "No Now the time has put Omar Abdullah in a great and grave test . Either he will have to get his promise and announcement done or to quit the honorable job with out damaging it any more .m
