Implement road safety measures strictly: LA panel | Tarigami grieved over demise of Rahmatulla | | EARLY ITMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 17 : The House committee of Legislative Assembly constituted to look into the causes of road mishaps, has expressed profound grief over the accidental death of prominent trade union leader Rahmatulla Malik of Kishtwar.
Malik, who was on way to Jammu breathed his last after he met with a tragic road accident on Batote – Kishtwar national highway today.
The committee headed by M Y Tarigami, while expressing pain and anguish over the recurring road mishaps on the route, has asked the administration to implement the measures that the committee has stressed upon during the course of its meetings with the concerned authorities.
The committee emphasized that no stone should to be left unturned for ensuring safety and security of the passengers, observing that police, traffic and civil authorities must co-ordinate effectively to address the problem on first priority in view of horrific spate in road mishaps that consume precious human lives almost routinely.
It was stated that several effective measures already conveyed to the concerned authorities of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts call for strict and prompt implementation to contain incidence of road mishaps and save passengers from falling prey to road monsters in these hilly and tough terrain areas.
