Develop Ambran Buddhist sites on Bodh Gaya pattern: AJHLA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 17: All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) has expressed heartiest thanks to the Buddhist spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama for conceding their request for setting up a grand Buddhist monastery at the excavated ancient Buddhist site of Ambaran in Akhnoor and demanded Buddhist monastery at Ambaran, on the pattern of Bodh Gaya Mandir in Bihar. The written request was forwarded to the Dalai Lama through Shri Sham Lal Sharma. The Association has expressed gratitude to the Health Minister Sh. Sham Lal Sharma and his elder brother Madan Lal Sharma, MP, the AJHLA president said in a meeting. A meeting of the association held here today under the Chairmanship of its President Inderjeet Khajuria and attended among others by HS Manhas, Vice President, Pawan Gupta General Secy., Baldev Raj treasurer and Vikram Jeet Singh Secy. has observed that setting up of Buddhist monastery at the site will bring the spot on the heritage and pilgrimage tourism map of the country and the world as whole. During the meeting AJHLA has demanded that the entire belt on the bank of River Chenab linking Ambaran and the historical place of Jio Pota be developed as heritage and pilgrimage tourist circuit. The same has vast potential for the purpose, with adequate land available round about.
