| Army averts tragedy, defuses IED | | | Srinagar: Bomb Disposal Squad of Army Thursday averted a major tragedy when they defused an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by the roadside at Lassipora in Kupwara district.
A police spokesperson said a patrol party of the army detected a five-kilogram IED placed in a pressure cooker alongside the Kupwara-Sogam road in north Kashmir.
"Army's alert patrol party detected the IED and it was defused by bomb disposal squad who destroyed the device at a nearby field," he added. |
