Army engineers celebrates 231st Corps Day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU , November 18 : The Corps of Engineers celebrated its 231st Raising Day on November 18 . Known as the Sappers, the Corps of Engineer consists of Combat Engineers, Border Road Organisation (BRO) and the Military Engineer Service (MES). They all have played a vital role in the valley in maintaining/opening of roads, construction of bridges and also in aid to civil authorities during natural calamities. On this occasion Brigadier TPS Rawat, VSM, Chief Engineer, Beacon, (BRO) Brigadier Navin Ahuja, SM, Chief Engineer, Chinar Corps and Brigadier Amit Katpalia, Chief Engineer, 31 Zone (MES) lauded the good work done by all ranks of Sappers in improving the living standards in the valley. A number of vocational training work shop have also been conducted by the Corps of Engineer in the Valley in the recent past. On this occasion Lt Gen S A Hasnain, AVSM, SM, VSM , GOC, Chinar Corps commended the hard work done by one and all of the Sappers fraternity in the valley and has urged everyone to strive to consolidate the gains and maintain the high reputation of the Sappers.
