Bovine smuggler held with 16 oxen | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 18: A man was held today at Kirpal-Kokhayal in Kathua while he was trying to smuggle 16 oxen from Punjab to Kashmir. His accomplice, who hailed from Punjab, however, managed to escape, police sources said. Acting on a tip-off that cattle were to be smuggled from Punjab to this side, police laid a naka at Kirpal-Kokhayal in Kathua and apprehended a man who was illegally taking 16 oxen to Kashmir for salughtering them. He was identified as Mohammad Biru, son of Sayeed Mohammad of Jarai. His accomplice Wali Mohammad alias Billu, son of Mir Ali of Kerian, Punjab, however, fled the spot, the sources added. A case in this regard was registered at Kathua police station under section 188 of RPC
