Sagar asks officers to speed up execution of developmental projects

Srinagar, Nov 18: Asking the officers to speed up the pace of execution of the ongoing developmental works in the Srinagar city, the Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that they should ensure that the same are completed well within the stipulated time.
The Minister was addressing officers during a review meeting here today. Director Tourism, FA Shah, senior officers of SDA, R&B, Irrigation and Flood Control, PDD and other allied departments were present.
The Minister asked the officers to strengthen the system of street lighting, provision of having appropriate parking spaces and also ensuring overall cleanliness of the city.
Referring to the government’s developmental project for conservation and beautification of the old city, the Minister said that restoring the pristine glory of the Srinagar city forms one of the top most priorities of the government. He directed the Director Tourism to work in close coordination with the other related departments, so that the prestigious project can be completed within the stipulated time.
The Minister while asking the officers to speed up the work on the Jehlum beautification project said that work should be started as soon as possible for beautifying the banks as the water level is very low. He also directed them to start the work on the conservation of the Zainakadal and Habakadal bridges as soon as possible.
Minister also reviewed the pace of work being undertaken on different community halls across the city and directed the concerned to complete the same so that the people living in different areas of the city get benefited from the same.
The Minister later held a review meeting of the Law Department. Advocate General, M. I. Qadiri, Commissioner Secretary, Law, G.H. Tantray, Director Prosecution, Director Litigation, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, Additional Advocate Generals and Public Prosecutors of the division were present.
Sagar also directed them to submit a monthly status report of the cases pending so that the monitoring system can be put in place. Minister said that the government has already initiated the process of building and upgrading the judicial infrastructure all across the state and requisite funds have already been released. He said that it is the endeavour of the government to ensure that the people get the requisite judicial help.
