Solar power plant of Rs. 2.43 cr will be installed at GPC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Nov 18: The Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has sanctioned Rs. 2.43 crore for installation of SPV Power Plant of capacity of 100 Kwp at Government Polytechnic College, Srinagar Kashmir. The project will be completed by June, 2012. The Ministry has asked the concerned agency to start work immediately so that the necessary electricity requirement of the technical institution may be fulfilled early and the problem faced by the Institution especially during winter months may be solved once for all. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Lok adalat Tangmarg settles 47 cases EARLY TIMES REPORT TANGMARG, NOV18: Tehsil Legal Services Committee Tangmarg at Court Complex, Tangmarg 110 cases were taken up out of which 47 cases were settled and an amount of Rs. 13300 was recovered as fine from the accused on the spot. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ‘Police public dubar’ held at Panchari EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Nov 18-To take stock of problems and demands of the people, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan accompanied by SSP Udhampur, Shakeel Ahmed Beig and district officers of various departments, organized an open public darbar at Block headquarters Panchari in Udhampur. Police spokesperson said that the problems and demands put forth by the inhabitants of villagers including Tehsil status to Panchari, Niabat status to Mongri, Degree college at Panchari and etc were raised during the meeting. After giving patient hearing to the problems and demands of the representatives of the area, the DDC said that the basic aim to hold such public darbar in various localities of the district to get the feedback of on-going developmental activities by various departments. Such darbars enable district administration to know the multifaceted problems being faced by the public at their door steps. At the same time, many problems do get solved on the spot due to presence of concerned department’s officials. Responding to the demands, the DDC asked the engineers of PWD to start the work of Lander to Kuddar road within 10 days and black topping works in different roads in Panchari area would be started from March, next year. He also assured the people of the area that the solar lights would be provided through Science and Technology Department at the earliest. Regarding the replacement of electric transformer in some areas of the block, he asked Executive Engineer PDD to start survey work of damaged transformers for its replacement under RGGY scheme. He also assured that their other genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned agencies for their early solution. Interacting with the people during the darbar, the SSP Udhampur, said that people were the eyes and ears of the Police in providing necessary in-puts to deal with any kind of law and order or crime related problems effectively. He added that district police Udhampur has launched a comprehensive plan to nab the anti social elements involved in illicit liquor and drugs smuggling and appealed the locals to cooperate the local police in providing necessary inputs in this regards to make the evil free society. Among others, Sarpanch and panches of the area and people in large number were present on the occasion.
