| Farmer awareness camp held at Dhar Mahanpur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, Nov 18: A farmer awareness camp under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) was organized by Horticulture Department Basohli at Dhar Mahanpur in which MLA Basohli, Jagdish Raj Spolia was the chief guest on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, Chief Agriculture Officer, Anil Sharma urged the farmers to get benefits of government sponsored schemes for the welfare of farmers. He stressed the farmers to adopt farming of Pika-nut and Kiwi fruit at Dhar Mahanpur and adjoining areas.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest MLA said he has given Rs.9 lakh from MLA fund to purchased plastic tanks through rural development department to distribute among the villages to store drinking water. He told that during his tenure, 23 new transformers and more than 300 electric poles have been installed, many schools have been upgraded, many water supply scheme have been started and upgradated etc. He assured people that Dhar Mahanpur road will be blacktopped very soon. Tehsil Horticulture Officer, Sarpanch Dhar Mahanpur and others farmers spoke on the occasion.
