Training on Commercial Tax Matters concludes at IMPA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOV 18: A 5-day training programme on Commercial Tax Matters, sponsored by J&K Finance Department and organized by J&K IMPA, Regional Centre, Jammu concluded here today. The 5-Day programme was designed to expose the participants to Stamps and Registration laws in Jammu and Kashmir in which renowned Guest Speaker V S Mittal from Bhopal delivered lecture on latest Stamps and Registration Act of J&K. Commissioner Secretary Finance Department Sudanshu Pandey also delivered his valedictory address. In his valedictory address, Pandey highlighted the current need for J&K Stamps and Registration Act and latest amendments in it. He also highlighted the need for familiarizing all concerned Officers with the aforementioned Acts so that implementation remains smooth for the convenience of public. Director General, J&K IMPA Dr. R K Jerath addressed to the participants and emphasized the need for training programme on Commercial Tax Matters. V S Mittal’s Main Resource Person and Senior District Registrar from Bhopal familiarized the participants with the substantive and procedural matters relating to the new Stamps and Registration Laws in Jammu and Kashmir. The participants for the programme were drawn from Revenue Department, Commercial Taxes, Engineering Department & Local Bodies department. The programme was conducted to train 225 officers in five days under course coordinator-ship of Ms. Manju Kapoor, Assistant Professor, J&K IMPA, Jammu. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Old wooden furniture piling up at Estates Deptt store EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 18: The worn out and old wooden furniture in the store room of the Estates Department is gradually piling up and all officials want the fresh replacement of the furniture. A visit to the store room of the estates department near Gole market area of Gandhinagar would expose you to the extent of wooden garbage stocked there in the premises of the store. Heaps of sleeping beds, sofa sets, broken chairs, wooden and even plastic can be seen in all the nooks and corners of the store of the concerned department. The overworked staff of the estates department present in the store room said after the reopening of the durbar move offices here in Jammu they are flooded with requests by the state government employees who want replacement of old furniture and as per their entitlement and the sanctioned budget we have to furnish their quarters. A senior official of the estates department on anonymity said in addition to the official bunglows even the officers staying in the private accommodations also forward their request to furnish their rented accommodations during durbar move. He said since the requests are made by the senior officers of the various departments their senior officers have no option but to oblige them within the permissible limits.
