| Chess tourney for officers from Nov 26 | | | JAMMU, Nov 18: Organised by the All Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association, the J&K Bank Imperial Chess Tournament shall be played from November 26 at Jammu Club, here.
The two-day event is meant only for IAS, IPS, KAS and KPS as also DGMs and above ranked officers of the banks.
“The idea behind holding such an event for the first time in the state was to generate interest among the policy makers about the game of chess. It would help the Association promote the game at the grass root level,” president of the Association, Atul Gupta told the media in a press conference held here this morning.
He further said that the event shall be declared open at 2 pm at Jammu Club on November 26 and the valedictory function is scheduled to be held on November 27 at 7 pm.
