Cong feeling "suffocated" with its ally NC......? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 18: In what can emerge to be war of nerves, the political scenario of the state, it seems, is set to witness the ties between the alliance partners of the ruling coalition ripping apart further. The thaw that was witnessed post bickering over AFSPA issue is no longer there to stay if sources are to be believed, Congress party is feeling "suffocating" with its ally National Conference. Insiders in Congress revealed that "sheer unrest is brimming up among the Congress cadre and middle rung leaders who are being ignored by none other than the major coalition partner National Conference. Further, wherever the NC candidate has won the Assembly segment seat and Congress had remained at third or further place, there the Congress leaders and cadre are targeted by NC leaders by directing the administrative officials to delay the developmental works recommended by Congress." It is learnt that several Congress leaders including Block and Ward levels have approached the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) leadership as well as Member Parliaments (MPs) and have expressed their deep anguish against attitude of NC leaders. "They (certain NC Ministers) have categorically conveyed to administrative officials not initiate developmental works in those areas which are dominated by Congress. Quoting several examples including the state of affairs in Samba district, they pointed out that the priority in almost all the sectors is being given to those areas where NC cadre is strong, which is unjustified," voiced Congress cadre before PCC leadership. They further questioned that "if such is the working of certain NC ministers then why or Ministers are silent. They should also ignore the NC cadre living in their respective constituency." Highly placed sources disclosed that even former Minister and sitting Congress MP, Madan Lal Sharma met chief minister Omar Abdullah and conveyed him the situation at grass root level. He asked him to verify why such activities are happening and must reprimand his party leaders who are indulging into such dirty politics. Sources further shared that, "though chief minister Omar Abdullah tried to pacify MP Madan Lal Sharma but the latter even went ahead and said earlier J&K was rated as second most corrupt state but now if things continued to move the way it are, then the days are not far when our state would be termed as number one corrupt state of the country." |
