| III Banarsi Dass Memorial Football Tornament | | >>>BSF wins, match stops due to clash in players | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | JAN 8 BSF XI won the final of III Banarsi Dass memorial Football Journey being played at G.G.M Science College here today. BSF trounced SRTC by two goals to one in the final and lifted the III Banarsi Dass memorial trophy organised by young Hero’s Football club. From winners side both the goals scored by R.K. Singh in the 35th and 74 minute of the match. The second goal scored by R.K. Singh from the fine pass given at right corner. He pumped the ball by his head in a splendid way. The only goal scored from SRTC side in the 74th minute by Shabier Dar. Centre Umpire also showed yellow card to Manmohan Singh of SRTC in the 15th minute of first half for foul playing. The match was stopped in 76th minute due to clash in the players. The clash started when two players of BSF collide each other and fall on grounds, but when SRTC players tried to show grievances BSF players starts beating them. Waiting BSF players also rush to the field with their coach starts beating the opponents team players. In the clash six SRTC players got minor injuries. Those who got injury were Manmohan Singh, Ricky, Ashiq, Harmanjit Singh, Vinay and Zahoor. Babu Singh, minister for youth services and sports who was chief guest on the occasion played an important role in negotiating the SRTC players to play again in the match. S.C. Negi, Additional DIG, BSF rebuke the players for showing indiscipline in the game and also punished one player for misbehaving with media person also. Suresh Gupta, centre referee punished the BSF players coach by showing Red Card. Sunny, Jasbir Singh and Kulbushan Kumar (Coach) were the players to whom Red card was shown. The match was officiated by Suresh Gupta, Nisar Ahmed, Ketan Kumar and Rajinder Abrol. Prominents present on th occasion were Vijay Singh Kotwal, Principal GGM Science College, SDS Jamwal, DGM JK Bank, Ashok Singh, Shiv Paul, R.K. Kohli, Yogesh Kohli, Amarjit Singh and officials. |
