Udhampur Nov 19: Lok Vikas Dal a local NGO has alleged 35 BRTF and district administration for their utter failure in managing traffic on Dhar road.
Lok Vikas Dal (NGO) held a emergency meeting here under the chairmanship of its president Vikram Singh Slathia in which it expressed deep concern over the growing road accidents on Dhar road and held Beacon and administration responsible for it.
He said that dozens of people have lost their precious lives during past few months due to accidents on road caused by rashly driven trucks as there is no one to check them.
He added that to decrease growing rush on Dhar road crores of rupees were spent to built on Rehmbal Jakhani Bye pass so that heavy vehicle going towards Kashmir Valley and Doda district could be diverted to it but due to failure of district administration heavy vehicles couldn’t be diverted till date despite it that road has been inaugurated year before.
He further added that it is amazing that beacon despite spending crores could not complete one of the bridge near Jakhani due to which heavy vehicles did not prefer to pass through Bye Pass .
He demanded inquiry in road project as how the bye pass road was inaugurated without completing bridge, work on which is still unfinished.
He said beacon should be made responsible for loss of human lives on Dhar road.
He said that NGO had number of times approach Deputy Commissioner to divert heavy vehicles towards Bye pass but they took decision late when another precious live was lost in road accident. He demanded that decision of DC regarding diverting heavy traffic towards bye pass should be implemented fully.
