| ‘Duplicate fertilizer being smuggled from Punjab’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 19:Former Minister Gharu Ram under took an extensive tour of border villages of Suchetgarh constituency of RS Pura Tehsil.
He held a public meeting in wetland village Gharana, situated on extreme International Border.
The farmers of the area raised various demands and among other alleged discrimination and stoppage of all the development activities by the present elected MLA belonging to BJP.
They alleged that in view of shortage of the fertilizers and duplicate fertilizer is being smuggled from neighbouring state of Punjab through Kot Punoo Nagri Parole route and being sold to farmers on exorbitant rates after re-loading it in local trucks throughout the border villages of District Kathua, Samba, Jammu including R.S.
Pura Tehsil. The farmers have been made victims of this illegal trade and demanded action against mafia involved in this racket.
Gharu Ram gave them a patient hearing and assured for bringing this serious complaint to the notice of the government for stopping this loot and saving the innocent farmers from losing their hard earned money.
He demanded that route of illegal trade of duplicate fertilizer should be immediately sealed and initiate action against culprit without further delay.
