EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 19:The annual Bishop Aziz William Memorial Inter-School Debate contest was held in "Cowie Hall" of Alexander Memorial School, Jammu today. It was sponsored by YMCA Jammu, a unit of YMCA Chandigarh-Shimla, in collaboration with Alexander Memorial School, Jammu. The topic of the debate was "India’s greatest contribution to the world economy is the genesis of corruption". Two debaters, each from Army School, Nagrota, Alexander Memorial School, Eid Gah-Residency Road, J&K Police Public School, Miran Sahib, JK Public School, Kunjwani, K.C. International School, Akhnoor Road and New Era Environmental School, Circular Road participated in the contest. Dr. Deepshikha Kotwal, Prof. Department of English, Jammu University, was the Chief Guest. Sudhit Singh and Ruth Robin both from Govt. Post Graduate College, Udhampur, were the Judges. Rev. Sohan Lal, ID Soni, Nasreen Khan and several dignitaries and officials from YMCA Jammu were also present on the occasion. The Rolling Trophy for the best team was won by Army Public School, Nagrota. The Runner up Team was KC International School, Akhnoor Road. Medals and Certificates of Merit were given to Anuj Masson, Saumya Sharma of Alexander Memorial School and Army Public School, Nagrota for being the best debater to Kartika Menon of Army Public School, Nagrota for being the second best debater and to Divya Bhat, Shubham Kundal of Army Public School, Nagrota and KC International School, Akhnoor for being the most promising debater.
