Amid spiritual ambience, thousands attend bhandara at Bhairav temple | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 19: A mega bhandara was today held at the ancient Bhairav Temple near Chowk Chabutra here on the eve of Kaal Bhairav ashtami. Amidst the chanting of hymns in the praise of Bhairav, the Rudra Avtaar of Lord Shiva, thousands of devotees thronged the temple to seek the blessings of the almighty. Bhairav is in the form of a pindi in the temple. The people had darshans of it. The Chowk Chabutra-Panjtirthi link road had been tastefully decorated on the occasion with colourful lights, buntings and flowers. The function started at the temple last night when a yagya was organised. In the morning, devotees were given charnamrit and prasad. The bhandara, which started in the afternoon, continued till about 8 pm. Before the start of the evening arti and after the arti, fire crackers were burst as mark of celebration. The bhandara at the Bhairav temple here is held every year on the eve of Kaal Bhairav ashtami.
