NC party of 'traitors' says Congress leader Paddar | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 19: The wordy war between the alliance i.e. the National Conference and Congress is not going to end as the State Congress vice-president Abdul Majeed Paddar today termed National conference as party of 'traitors.' The incident occurred after a week when Senior National Conference leader and Spokesperson Mustaffa Kamal was sacrificed on the altar of the 'wordy war' between the two allies. State vice president Congress Abdul Majeed Paddar in a press statement issued here today said, "When state Congress President, Prof Saifudin Soz, voted against BJP led government at center in 1998, the then NC president, Farooq Abdullah suspended him from the party. "Terming NC as party of 'traitors', Padder said adding, "the double standards of the NC will be exposed soon." He also blamed NC for the present turmoil in the state and claimed that the party has lost its roots. "They (NC) will diminish from the scene soon. NC is playing dirty politics which in turn affects the people and the state," he alleged. Need not to mention the 'wordy war' between the two allies started few years back when Mustaffa started the mud slinging on the Congress leadership. The things got worsened too much the NC Leader who recently has been forced to sit quiet by the NC high command to save the coalition from internal bickering targeted the Senior Congress leader Makhan Lal Fotedar. Senior NC legislator and Omar's uncle Mustafa Kamal had stated 'Fotedar is an alien to J&K politics, but his attribute has been that he hatched conspiracies in the past right from 1977 to 1990 toppling elected governments four times by imposition of governor's rule. 'He works in tandem with his confidant and friend Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to bring his conspiracies to fruition.' Kamal had called Fotedar's statement on accession of the state to India being full and final as 'ridiculous'. Kamal had also blamed the Congress for having betrayed the 'sincerity of the NC in the past as well'. Earlier National Conference was targeted Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Moga but the Kamal went too far when he targeted Rahul Gandhi saying: Rahul having no role in the affairs of the state government and felt the heat. Since Nov 11, the Kamal had been advised to exercise restraint and follow the party policy line on all issues, particularly those pertaining to the policies of the coalition government, relationship with the Congress party, AFSPA and the role of the army. |
