Naaz visits border areas of Poonch, assess people’s problems | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT POONCH, NOVEMBER 20- Vice Chairman, Gujjar and Bakerwal State Advisory Board, Choudhary Bashir Ahmad Naaz conducted a public rally in Shahpure, a remote and border village of Poonch district to assess people’s problems. Mr. Naaz is on 3-day visit to the district during which he also visited remote areas including Changri, Gadher, Khul, Noonabandi and adjoining areas. Mr. Naaz said road project ahead of Ziarat Sain Mira Baksh is being executed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.62 crore under PMGSY and 5.5. km fair weather road, 4 km protection work and 4 km cross drainage work has been completed, so far, registering an expenditure of R. 1.60 crore and the project is expected to be completed by ending March 2012. Responding to public demands, Mr. Naaz instructed the district administration to dispose of all pending land acquisition and old age pension cases at the earliest. He further directed the concerned officers to initiate the process to change nomenclature of Shahpure panchayats A and B in to Shahpure Thane and Shahpure Duprian and submit case to the concerned authority for early decision. He instructed district administration to ensure adequate staff in High School of the area. He instructed Headmaster of the school to engage a computer teacher on contract basis if there is no sanctioned post. Later, Mr. Naaz attended a public function in Government High School Shahpure. He assured the staff and students that their genuine problems will be resolved on priority. While taking stock of the developmental works, Choudhary Naaz asked the officers to further gear up their functioning so that the problems of general public are mitigated. He also directed the concerned authorities for providing basic amenities like drinking water and bathroom in all the government schools on priority basis.
