DPC Kishtwar approves Rs 3484.49 lakh annual action plan for 2011-12 under BRGF

KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 20- An Action Plan amounting to Rs. 3486.693 lakhs have been approved for District Kishtwar under Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) for the year 2011-12 by the District Planning Committee Kishtwar (DPC) comprising of District heads of departments under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mr. M.H. Malik.
The Action Plan comprises of Rs. 1400.05 lakhs as Panchayat Share where as an amount of Rs 1826.16 lakhs have been approved under District and Block Share. While Rs 68.25 lakhs has been approved as ULB share. Total 1150 works have been approved for the current year.
District Development Commissioner held threadbare discussions on all the sectoral plans and directed the concerned sectoral officers to implement the plan expeditiously so that the critical gaps in infrastructure and other fields can be overcome through the central sponsored scheme. He also directed the line departments to identify the critical gaps for funding under BRGF under central sponsored scheme for the holistic development of the district. He also enjoined upon the field agencies to strictly adhere to the guidelines and time schedule.
On the occasion Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishtwar Mr. Latif Choudhary appraised the participants about the aims and objectives of Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) and role of PRIs in planning and execution. Where as Representative of Trios Development Ltd, a technical support institution (TSI), engaged by the Ministry of Panchayat Raj, GOI, for formulation of five year perspective and annual plans for the District, Mr. Sanjeev Arora gave a detailed power point presentation about the Plan formulation process. He divulged on the occasion that the annual plan 2011-12 for the District have been formulated through participative – decentralized planning process by the active involvement of PRI’s and local Public representatives.
In the meeting it was decided that under the Panchayat Share 50% of the total amount proposed for rural housing shall be utilized for new constructions and the rest shall be used for up-gradations.
