LJP demands probe into purchase of votes in MLC elections | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 20:A meeting of Lok Janshakti Party was held under the chairmanship of its state working president Sanjeev Manmotra. In the meeting the members said that BJP made an exemplary move after it cut to size its own existence in the Legislative Assembly just to maintain the political ethics, it is now the turn of the ruling class to show the same integrity by taking action against those who put in huge investments to purchase votes. They demanded that the whole note for vote controversy should be resolved by handing over the case to CBI as the state government is also involved in the crime. The LJP leader also described the controversy around Syed Mohammad Yusuf, who allegedly died in police custody on September 30, as Jammu & Kashmir's "cash -for -MLC seat" scam. The issue of mysterious death of National conference activist Syed Mohammad Yusuf Shah is no longer an internal matter of that party, particularly in the wake of allegations of torture death and the issue also involves another serious angle of "cash -for -MLC seat". Yousuf death case should also be handed over to CBI. The meeting was attended by Anil Kumar Bhagat, National General Secretary Dalit Sena, M R Puri, National Secretary, KK Rao, General Secretary, Madan Gopal, Secretary, Ghulam Nabi Khan, President Labour Cell, Subash Baba, President Jammu Rural Sanjay Kumar, Vice President Dalit Sena and others.
