HelpAge India holds senior citizen associations meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: In connection with the ongoing Data Collection program of HelpAge India across the country, a Senior Citizen Associations meeting was held at Old Age Home Udhampur today. The meeting was organized by HelpAge India Jammu to emphasize the need of the data of the social, health, financial, basic facilities for the elders. It was agreed upon by the members that for the welfare of the elders and to understand their current scenario of elderly in J&K it is necessary to have a statistical data for planning the future interventions. Representing the HelpAge India Jammu, Nikhil Kumar informed the audience about the survey being done by the HelpAge India all over the country. The survey is supported by Catholic Organization for Relief and Development Aid (CORDAID) Dr Mairaj Muzaffar deliberated on the Age Care programme run by the HelpAge India in the whole country. President All J& K Senior Citizens Friendship And Welfare Association link road Jammu O S Chouhan highlighted the scope of interventions in the lives of elderly people in J&K. Chief patron of Jagriti Old Age Home Udhampur Dr R C Nagar gave a glimpse of problems faced by the elderly people in the higher reaches of Udhampur and around and the growing needs for the better planning to tackle these problems Meeting was attended by members of the association and the inmates of the old age home.
