| Free legal aid at Logate, Chandwan in Kathua | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, NOVEMBER 20- Free legal aid Camps at Village Logate in Tehsil Kathua and village Chandwan in Teshil Hiranagar were inaugurated by District Legal Services Authority Kathua Mr. A.K. Sharma here today.
The function was attended by Additional District & Session Judge Kathua, Chief Judicial magistrate Kathua, District. Mobile Magistrate Kathua, Munsiff Kathua and Munsiff Hiranagar besides trained mediators, retainer advocates under legal services scheme, members of the Bar, Officers of District administration, members of the Panchayat and local inhabitants.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sharma highlighted the significance and objectives of establishing Legal Aid Clinics under the J&K State Legal Services Authority regulation. In order to meet the needs of the people of legal assistance a scheme has been formulated by the government to provide legal relief easily to the indigent and backward sections of the society. The legal aid clinics aim to provide legal guidance at village level with the help of para legal volunteers and special advocates appointed for the said task. He also highlighted and apprised the general public of the services being provided by the legal services authority at different levels in the state and exhorted the people to avail the benefits available under various schemes.
The gathering was also addressed by members of Bar, Sarpanches of the areas and Chairman Tehsil services Committee Kathua and Hiranagar.
