IHRO opens its office in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 20:International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) has opened its first office in Jammu today. Dilbagh Singh IG Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He appreciate the initiative taken to protect the rights of the people and assure the best cooperation from the Police to minimise the cases of human rights violations in J&K. Dr J Rajeshwar Rao President and Nem Singh Premi Chairman Delhi were also present on the occassion. Both highlight the functioning of the organisation and how the organisation protects the rights of the people. He said that a right is not what someone gives you; its what no one can take from you. Yet, in India, basic human rights have somehow been taken from a vast section of the population. With a million scavengers, thousands of cases of domestic violence and dowry deaths, and an appalling number of child labourers, we surely have a long way to go where securing basic human rights is concerned. Harpreet Singh was announced as Chairman of the organization for J&K and Satinder Singh Sudan will work as Seceratry for J&K. Gurjeet Singh Bali (Retd. AGM P&S Bank), Surinder Singh (Retired Principal) and Dr Jaswant Singh (Retired Director Animal Husbandry) was the guest of honour on the occasion.
