Udhampur Rail link adventurous trip for tourist & boon for business community

Udhampur Nov 20: The 53 kilometer - long railway track between Jammu and Udhampur whereas is adventurous trip for those visiting here from different parts of country on the other hand has proved boon for the area in different ways .

Rail track is an engineering marvel telling us how we are capable of completing arduous tasks despite hurdles. Using the latest technology, the railway line has been laid with 20 tunnels and 158 bridges. It has the longest tunnel of about 2.5 km length. The Gambhir bridge is another example of the engineering feet which is 77 meters high.

The railway line passing though hilly stations like Bajalta, Sangar, Manwal and Ramnagar Road whereas touches the hearts of the locals of all age groups who express their joy while travel, said local resident Juhi Arora of Adarash Colony .
He added that rail link has boosted the business activities and saved the time of businessmen’s of the area who now travel to Jammu and other places in the country. This rail link between Jammu and Udhampur has made the pilgrimage easy for those devotees who cannot make it due to the arduous bus journey from Jammu in past he added .

Majority of Businessmen who live in Udhampur use any one of the five trains that ply on this track daily to get to Jammu particularly on Monday business remain off on the day here in Udhampur . “I traveled from Udhampur to Jammu everyday by road before the track was laid but it’s a rather dangerous drive to make and over the past three years I have only be travelling by train,” says Dalip Arora Local businessman who has been shuttling between Jammu and Udhampur daily for the last eleven years. “The track is a lifeline to us businessmen who need to commute daily, he added .
The track has come as a blessing for students and Government employees too. “Most of the educational institutes are located in Jammu and before the track was laid, it was difficult for students to commute between Udhampur and Jammu. Now, however, many of us who live in Udhampur, travel to different colleges in Jammu every day,” says Raghav, a student .Majority of employees shuttling between Udhampur and Jammu daily park their motorcycles, and bicycles at the Udhampur station, hop onto the train and set out to seek a living or an education..
