| Kshitij Foundation sour over non furnishing of info on competitive examination | | |  EARLY TIMES
Jammu, Nov 20: Narotam Sharma, convenor of the Kshitij Foundation in a press conference has strongly condemned the PSC secretary for non-furnishing of the information regarding the Competitive examination. The attitude of commission in defying the RTI act clearly indicates ulterior motive of the commission in hiding its misdeeds.
We are proceeding to the court of law for redressing grievances against the non-furnishing of the information.
On this occasion, Sharma said that, Kshitij Foundation filed an application before J&K Public Service Commission (PSC) on 06/11/2010 seeking information regarding KAS selections made by it. The Public Service Commission in utter disregard to the provisions of Right to Information Act refrained from providing any information despite lapse of stipulated time frame.
The Foundation repeatedly called on PSC officialdom for providing information but they on one pretext or other avoided to furnish reply. An appeal was accordingly made to State Information Commission in the month of April 2010 against the defiance of PSC. The State information Commissioner vide Decision File No. SIC/J/Comp/94/2011 dated 12.08.2011 directed the Public Information Officer, Dy. Secretary, PSC to make available the requisite information within 15 days.
PSC again in violation of SIC ‘s order failed to provide the information within the prescribed time & instead after expiry of one month sent a reply which again was lacking in many respects.
Out of the nine points information on which sought , PSC covered only seven points & for the rest , its reply was mockery of its self perceived efficient functioning. The PSC intimated that the official was on leave under whose charge the record lies & thus unable
to provide the information.
Till date, the PSC has not bothered to contact us for giving rest of the information even though two months more have gone.
