U-22 Cricket: MP in commanding position against J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 20 : Madhya Pradesh was in commanding position at 195/5, after bundling out Jammu & Kashmir for a paltry total of 113 runs earlier on day-1 of the 4-day match of the CK Nayudu Under-22 Cricket Tournament at Indore in Madhya Pradesh, today. Batting first, J&K were bundled-out for a meagre total of 113 runs as MP bowlers bowled a disciplined line and length. Wicket-keeper batsman, Gokul Baru was the top scorer with 25 runs, while Shubam Khajuria and Manik Gupta contributed 20 runs each to the total. In reply, Madhya Pradesh were comfortably placed at 195/5 at the draw of stumps today. For J&K, Leg-Spinner Deepak Singh Manhas and Off-Spinner Aamir Mehraj scalped 2 wickets each, while speedster Sahil Sharma claimed one wicket. It is pertinent to mention here that J&K before quallifying for this is the knock-out stage of the tournament, defeated Chhattis-garh at home,defeated Vidharbha at Nagpur, got first innings lead aginst Assam at Gwahati and drew with Goa at home. For J&K, Shubam Khajuria has cracked to centuries and two half centuries so far in this tournament, while owais Shah has also two centuries to his name. Bandeep Singh and Aditya Pratap Singh have one century each. Manik Gupta has emerged as star performer with both bat and ball in this tournament. Meanwhile, the losers in this match will be out of fray as this is the Knockout stage of the tournament. |
