Fake MES appointment racket busted

Jammu Nov 21: Jammu Police busted an intrastate racket involved in the issuance of fake appointment orders to the innocent people of the rural periphery of Jammu by arresting two members of the racket from BawaTalab Jammu.
According to police the Kanachak police on Monday arrested two accused alonwith some fake appointment letters of 133 battalion Headquarters of Military Engineering Services from their possession.
Following a complaint filed by Vikram Singh s/o Ashok Kumar r/o Gajan Soo and Sanjay Kumar s/o Bodh Raj r/o Bhalwal against Mohan lal s/o Babu Nath r/o Bawa Talab and Ghulam Mohammad Mir s/o Mahammad Sultan r/o Nopora Tujar, Sopore of cheating by issuing them fake appointment orders in Military Engineering Service (MES) in lieu of huge sums of money, the Kanachak Police started investigations against a case FIR no 151/2011 u/s 420/120-B RPC has been registered at Police Station Kanachak, police said.
On the basis of complaint, a police party of Kanachak led by SHO Rajinder Singh and SDPO Domana Sandeep Mehta conducted a raid at the residence of one Mohan Lal in Baba -da -Tallab and arrested him. On the disclosure of the accused police also managed to arrest one Ghulam Mohd Mir of Sopore. During their interrogation they disclosed the name of their third accomplice whom they identified as Khan Sahib of Srinagar.
Police also added that during the course of investigation it was revealed that arrested Ghulam Mohammad Mir who came in to contact with Mohan Lal lured him in to illegal business of issuance of fake appointment orders. Both of them then took the complaintants and some other boys and their wards in to confidence and promised them appointments in the MES for huge consideration of money. “Vikram Singh gave 1.80 Lacs where as Sanjay Kumar gave 1.70 Lacs for getting the appointment orders. The orders when got checked by the wards of boys and enquired were found to be fake, police added.
Meanwhile MES Authorities in Udhampur when contacted have categorically denied the existence of any Unit of 133 MES at Udhampur and that no any recruitment in MES has taken place during the month of November. Issuing authority mentioned on the order i.e. Chief Engineer Service Headquarters c/o 133 MES Udhampur does not exist anywhere. Further investigation in the case is going on.
