EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Nov 20 (KNS): The Ministry of Home Affairs has refused to divulge information about recommendations send by them to President of India with regard to mercy petition of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guroo.
The MHA has also denied to provide the information about FIR as the RTI applicant had sought copy of the same under Right to Information Act (RTI) stating the reason that disclosure of information will affect sovereignty and integrity of the country and impede the process of investigation.
The RTI application had been filed by one Mohammad Afzal Bhat who is Honorary Secretary of a Srinagar based NGO “Fact Against Corruption Tables” (FACT).
Bhat had filed the RTI application in August this year before Public Information Officer MHA South Block New Delhi and had sought the information.
