No one rules India now | | NIKHIL GUPTA , MBA | 11/22/2011 11:19:48 PM |
| A propos the article published in your esteemed newspaper " EARLY TIMES "titled "Divide ,rule British doctrine is still faith of many people who have been ruling India after 1947 " . In this regard it is pointed out that before 1947 , Britishers ruled India but after 1947 no one rules India because the preamble to Indian constitution clearly mentions that the sovereignty belongs to people of India . There is a saying in our Duggar language that " Whoever takes salary is a servant " . And servants don't rule but serve . The broad definition of public servant and government servant covers this aspect . Thus all those from peon of an office to the Prime minister of the country don't rule but only serve the people of India . In recent parliament debates , honourable MP Varun Gandhi ji mentioned that before 1947 , it was the STATE that was sovereign but now the sovereignty belongs to the people of India . The Anna Hazare experiment has demonstrated this . Thus after 1947 , India is served by officials ,officers and ministers etc but not ruled by anyone.
