| Special lift installed at Srinagar International Airport | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Nov 22: An imported special and fast moving lift was
installed and inaugurated at the Srinagar International Airport by
Capt Raj K Malik, Airport Director who was accompanied with SP
Antihijacking Abdul Rashid, OSD with Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir,
Aamir Ali and representatives ofvarious Airlines, CRPF, Police and
passengers.
The lift is made in Germany by world famous Thyssen Krupp and has a
capacity of 13 persons and is very fast and safe. Airports Authority
of India has created number of facilities for the convenience of the
travelling public to and from the Srinagar International Airport. The
lift has been installed in the departure wing of the airport and will
benefit handicapped, old aged people, ladies and children. The
passengers travelling in the various flights can avail the facility.
Later, a review meeting was held under chairmanship of Airport
Director to finalise the arrangements at airport for operation of the
AN-32 Kargil Courier service from 28th November. The meeting was
attended by SP Anti Hijacking, OSD with Div Com, Joint Director Fire
Services, RT Dubey and senior officers of Indian Air Force and AAI
associated with the arrangements.
