Jammu Nov 22: Tax Bar Association Jammu organized an impressive
Introductory Welcome Party to felicitate Commissioner Commercial Taxes
Gazzanfer Hussain; Chairman, J&K State Sales Tax Tribunal M.K. Hanjura
on their assumption of office & R K Koul Additional Commissioner
Commercial Taxes (Adm), Jammu on his induction into Indian
Administrative Services (IAS).
Advocate Vikas Chopra conducted the proceedings by welcoming and
introducing the guests to the Bar members. Welcoming the guests the
President of the Association Advocate V K Grover emphasized need for
more and better coordination between
Bench and Bar for smooth functioning of the department for proper
realization of state revenue by judicious implementation of various
provisions of law.
In his address Commissioner Commercial Taxes Gazzanfer Hussain assured
the Bar of his rightful approach towards this important section of the
society. He invited the advocates to his chambers with any difficulty
as and when face.
Chairman, J&K State Sales Tax Tribunal M K Hanjura who remained in
High Court Registry for a song period and was Registrar of Supreme
Court of India before joining his present assignment also addressed
the gathering and commended the role played by advocates in proper
implementation of law and maintaining best discipline.
Addl Commissioner Commercial Taxes (Adm) Jammu R K Koul expressed
opinion that despite having sufficient knowledge a knowledgeable
person always remains a student in life. He further asserted that
instructions have already been issued to the Assessing Authorities to
ascertain and verify the representatives of assesses before
entertaining them. Senior Vice-President Satish Gupta presented vote
of thanks.
