Relief Organization employees’ stir enters 3rd day

JAMMU, Nov 23:The strike of the employees of Relief Organization entered third day today.
A protest demonstration was held by the employees in the premises of the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner's office.
Migrants in hundreds from Jagti township came to Relief Organization's office and in the meantime Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla also came to the office of Relief Organization.
During the deliberation held by the Minister with the striking employees, the Minister was apprised that certain goons from Jagti township the number of which is not more than one dozen have created such an environment in the Jagti township due to which the employees went on strike. Such elements have been threatening the engineering staff and are levelling false allegations against the employees of Relief Organization which is creating problems for the employees in discharging their day-to-day duties and addressing the problems of migrants.
Also the engineering staff informed the Minister that they are being threatened by such people and are creating problems in restoration work due to which they have stopped the work.
The migrants from Jagti also had come in a procession informed the employees and the Minister that at Jagti there is no committee called Jagti Committee and this so called committee is the creation of few people for their personal benefits and have no support of masses.
In this regard they requested the Minister to make necessary arrangements for conducting of elections in the Jagti colony so that real representatives are identified and they can co-ordinate with various agencies for sorting out the problems. The inmates of Jagti township requested the Minister for construction of cremation ground, play ground and above all solving the problem of electricity as they are facing power cuts more than fifteen hours daily.
Minister announced that work on cremation ground and play ground shall be started immediately and earmarked Rs.1 crore for such purpose and with regard to the power problem and enhancing of relief the Minister informed that a separate proposal shall be submitted to Govt. of India
