Sensitization Programme for Chemistry Teachers held | | | Early Times Report JAMMU , November 23 : “The International Year of Chemistry 2011 is an opportunity for project the importance of this discipline of Science in accelerating the pace of development. A wide range of activities are being orchestrated across the nation during this year which will touch research Scientist, teachers, students and common man repeatedly. We should be able to attract our talented youth to exciting and fulfilling careers in teaching and research of chemical sciences”, said B.K. Tyagi, Sci ‘D’ Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. Addressing to a Press Conference at Jammu press club said “National Council for Urban & Rural Development, Jammu deserves felicitation for organizing the programme for chemistry teachers under this banner. Vigyan Prasar, a national institute for science & technology communication will catalyze similar programmes as well as interesting follow up activities at many other regions of the country. The flag of chemical sciences will flutter very high over the next few months”. kyVigyan Prasar is organizing a sensitization programme for Chemistry teachers under the aegies of International Year of Chemistry 2011 at Carmel Convent School Kunjwani Bye pass, Jammu. Talking to media persons B K Tyagi, incharge Training & Dissemination Division of Vigyan Prasar said “International year of Chemistry provides us the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of chemists and role of chemistry in our daily life and environment. Jammu is an educational city and VP wants to associate the chemistry teachers of this city with our expedition to make the subject interesting. We hope for the cooperation by the media.”
