Army organizes creative writing competition

RAJOURI , November 23 : As a part of overall personality development of youth in the region, a Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo), with the active co-operation of School Children of Mendhar Tehsil and Government Degree College Mendhar stepped in and organised Creative Writing Competition for youth.
Girl students of Mendhar , Chhatral , Harni , Ari, Jugal and Mankot participated in the said competition. The competition was organised under two categories. In first category girls till class twelfth were kept whereas second category was open for college students.
The topic for the creative writing competition for the first category was “Role of Youth in Nation Building” whereas in second category students were given opportunity to write on “Role of Youth in Eradicating the Social Evils”. The topics were decided on the spot so that students talent for writing and expressing his views could be assessed.
The participants surprised the judges with their talent and ingenuity in field of writing. Parneet Parihar, SDPO, Mendhar and Chief Guest for the occasion exhorted the participants for their effort and encouraged them to make the best use of such a platform to display their writing skills.
Javeda Kausar and Neighat Fardous were adjudged first and second in the first category whereas in the second category first prize was bagged by Rubina Farooq whereas second prize went to Roma Shanaz. Shabbir Hussain Shah , Principal Government Degree College Mendhar expressed his thanks in his concluding speech and told that these kind of competitive activities will go a long way to build confidence and enhance self belief in the young generation.
