APHCC urges Prez to save the Hindu shrines | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Nov 23: In an open letter, through media, the All Party Hindu Co-ordination Committee urged the Hon’ble President of India Smt Pratibha Singh Patil to intervene to save the deteriorating condition of the Hindu Temple and Shrine in the state, Mis-Management, illegal sale and illegal occupation of Temple’s lands by the land mafia and anti-social elements in the valley and Jammu regions. According to a press statement issued today the spokesperson of APHCC stated that organization a conglomerate of various social and political organizations wants that Hon’ble Presidents should visit all such temples and Shrines of cultural heritage value in valley too and judge what a great lapse have done by the state Government by not saving them from the anti-social elements. “The “motive” of the APHCC is to show Hon’ble President that an elected Board was a necessity to look-after the temples in state, to channelize the donations and offering of the temple for the welfare of the humanity, stop sale of the temples wealth and temple lands, the statement said. The APHCC prays to President of India to ask State Government to moot-out a plan to enact a law for the constitution of an elected board to save the culture and heritage of the Hindu Community in the state.
