Bhalla dedicates deep drill tube well to Lower Belicharana people

JAMMU, Nov 24: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today dedicated 5000 gallon discharge capacity deep drill tube well to the inhabitants of Guru Arjun Dev Singh Nagar (Kashmiri Basti) in Lower Belicharana.
The construction work of tube well including laying of water supply pipes have been completed at a cost of Rs. 1.18 crore under Water Supply Scheme Raipur Satwari.
Addressing a largely attended public meeting after inauguration of the WSS at Lower Belicharana, Bhalla reiterated Government’s determination to provide improved basic amenities to the people, adding that it has taken several bold and reformative decisions for development of core sectors in every nook and corner of the State.
The Minister said the execution of developmental projects under various sectors, especially for upgradation of road connectivity, safe drinking water, power and health, education besides improving drains facilities have been taken up on priority and are being completed in targeted time for the early benefit of the masses of the State.
Listing the steps taken by the Government for providing quality education in Barzalla, Raipur Satwari and Belicharana areas of his home constituency, Bhalla said that three Middle Schools have been upgraded to the level of High Schools in these areas, adding that Belicharana is also being promoted as tourist spot where construction of artificial lake, at a cost of Rs. 110 crore is apace. He said to reduce journey from Canal Road to Gandhi Nagar, the work on 4th bridge over river Tawi at Niki Tawi is also in full swing at an estimated cost of Rs. 150 crore, adding that these projects would not only provide employment to locals but also provide better connectivity to common people.
Minister said 22 tube wells constructed by ERA and 10 under state plan have already been commissioned across his home constituency to ensure that no household would remain without this vital facility. He called upon the people not to waste drinking water unnecessarily and use it judiciously. Minister called upon the people not to encroach upon the government land as the same was being used to create public infrastructure including schools, roads, bridges, tube wells and Government offices.
