Govt for verification of private tour operators

SRINAGAR, Nov 24: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon, in another meeting relating to Haj Pilgrims, asked the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar and Superintendent of Police to take action against Private Tour Operators,” Hajeej”.
He said that the owner of the said Tour Operations organisation has been arrested at Delhi and Mumbai and have been put behind the bars. He further said that the administration has recovered 500 passports from them and have been handed over to the passport holders.
Divisional Commissioner suggested Haj Committee Srinagar to bring out an advisory for the general information to the public about those Tour Operators which are registered with Ministry of External Affairs and it should also indicate the quota of such private operators. He also asked them to look into the rate structure, so that no Haji should be over charged in future. He also suggested for framing a Committee of experienced persons by the Haj Committee to look into other matters.
