Adhere to rates and quality of bricks-Div Com | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 24: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon directed the concerned officers that rates of bricks be strictly implemented besides there should be no compromise on quality standards. This decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, which was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mehraj Ahmed Kakroo, DC Pulwama, Shafat Noor, DC Anantnag, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, and DC Budgam, Mohammed Rafi. The meeting was also attended by representatives of RTO Kashmir and State Road Transport Corporation. It was informed that rates of ‘B’ class bricks have been fixed at Rs 3100 per thousand and Rs 4100 per thousand for ‘A’ class bricks. The additional charge of transportation of bricks has been fixed at the rate of Rs. 37.35 per Kilometer and is chargeable for a load of 3000 bricks per truck. Dr. Samoon in pursuance of Rule 6 of SRO 152 has constituted a high level committee comprising of Deputy Commissioners of Pulwama & Budgam and Chief Engineers R&B, Mechanical Engineering, Directors, CA&PD and Industries, General Manager, SRTC and representatives of All Kashmir Brick Manufacturers Association, in order to regulate the quality standard for bricks being manufactured in Kashmir Division. The convenor of the committee will be Asst Commissioner (Central) with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Muneer-ul-Islam. The committee has been asked to submit its report within a period of two weeks. Divisional Commissioner has asked the consumers that if they have any complaint with regard to the quality and rates of bricks they can contact respective Deputy Commissioners.
