Manohar inaugurates school building at Sallan
Upgradation of educational infrastructure priority of govt

JAMMU, Nov 24: Minister of State for Higher Education, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal today inaugurated new additional block of Higher Secondary school, Sallan in Kathua.
The construction work of the building has been completed at a cost of Rs. 33.85 lakh, provide additional accommodation facility to the students of the institution. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that up gradation of educational infrastructure across the State is top priority of the Government. He said in this regard the construction and up-gradation work of educational institutions are being taken up, for which the Centre is also providing liberal funds under various schemes to the State.
Dr. Manohar said that under Rashtriya Madhimik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) new educational institution are being opened at the distance of 5 Kms while as middle and secondary schools are being upgraded to the level of High and Higher Secondary schools, to provide education facility to the students at their door steps.
The Minister appreciated the efforts of the school management for bringing laurels in curricular and co-curricular activities in the institution. He called upon the students to work hard to their studies, excel in every subject, which he said is pivotal for development of the society.
Responding to the demands of the school administration, the Minister said that necessary steps would be taken for construction of examination hall, laboratory, library and computer room in the school. He directed concerned authorities to prepared DPRs in this regard for funding.
MLC, Subash Gupta in his address highlighted the achievements registered by the Government for development of education sector in the State. He hailed the hardwork of teaching staff of the school which they made for polishing the students in academic, physical and moral education. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal, Chief Education Officer, Kathua, District officers besides a large number of people of the area and students were present on the occasion.
