Dr. Ankur Gupta elevated to senior member grade | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 24: Dr. Ankur Gupta, Joint Director, MIET has been elevated to the Senior Member grade by the Awards Committee of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), USA, which is the oldest and most prestigious association for computer science professionals in the world. Senior Member grade recognizes those ACM members with at least 10 years of professional experience and 5 years of continuous professional membership who have demonstrated performance that sets them apart from their peers. The elevation is based on nomination and requires endorsement from at least 3 academicians or industry professionals with good standing. The nomination is then evaluated by the awards committee of the ACM based on contribution to the field in terms of professional achievements, projects, publications and service to society. In 2011, 141 members from the top universities and companies in the world have been elevated to the senior member grade, including 7 from India. Dr. Ankur Gupta is also the recipient of the prestigious AICTE Career Award for Young Teachers, has filed 4 patents, published 30 international research papers and serves on the editorial boards and program committees of prestigious international journals and conferences. Prior to joining the academia, he worked with Hewlett-Packard (HP) in the Software Technologies and Services Division.
