12-member volleyball team leaves for nationals | | | Early times report JAMMU, Nov 24: A 12-member state volleyball team today left for participation in the 34th Sub-junior National Volleyball Championship to be held at Perinthalmanna in Kerela from December Ist to December six. Before their departure, the team underwent a 10-day coaching camp at MA Stadium under the guidance of State Sports Council coach. “Placed in group-C, the state team shall play against Karnataka, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, Pondicherry and Goa in the league round,” general secretary of the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Kuldip Magotra told SAN. The team is accompanied by Azhar Aziz of Rajouri and Taraiz Nazir of Poonch as coach and manager respectively. Before team’s departure, the boys were encourages by incharge Secretary State Sports Council, Kiran Wattal and Joint Secretaries, Siddharth Sharma and Prof Bashir as also office bearers of the Association at Volleyball courts of the MA Stadium, here.
The Team: Rajat Bangotra, Aman Sharma, Narinder Singh, Deepak Singh, Naresh Kumar, Vishal Singh, Deepak Choudhary (all Jammu district), Rashid Khan, Abdul Khaliq (both from Poonch), Ram Bhawan (Rajouri), Raishav Singh (Samba) and Deepak Sharma (Kathua).
